Dinnerware

Yes, this is caused by the age of the bamboo used for production and cannot be controlled due to the nature of a natural product. Young bamboo appears to be bright and soft whereas, older bamboo is darker with a firmer texture. The finish on each product is therefore different and inconsistent based on the age on the bamboo.

To help prevent deterioration, every few months you can treat your dishes with beeswax or a food safe oil such as coconut or almond oil. Use a soft cloth or paper towel to apply a light coat to the dry dish, allow it to soak in for an hour or even overnight then wipe off the excess.

We recommend to use warm water with mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and wipe-dry with a soft cloth; then allow the bowl to air-dry completely.

We do not recommend this, as the heat from the microwave or dishwasher may damage the natural bamboo. However, the removable silicone on the bowls and spoons are safe for dishwasher.

Straws

You can clean your bamboo straw in any of the following ways:

- Put it in the dishwasher

- Hand wash with lukewarm water and soap

- Boil in water for approx. 10 minutes

You can disinfect your straws using boiling water with white vinegar

Yes! Bubba boo straws are fully compostable and can be easily recycled. Simply put them into a recycling or compost bin.

Our straws can be washed hundreds of times and withstand many months of continuous use!

Toothbrushes

Your bubba boo bamboo toothbrush will last just as long as a conventional plastic toothbrush. Dentists & Hygienists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3 months.

The bristles are the only part of our toothbrush that is not biodegradable. They are made from nylon 6 bpa free. The only 100% biodegradable option currently available is pig hair, which would be unacceptable to many people. We are constantly searching for an alternative, but until then, please remove the bristles for recycling
